"Before today, she hadn't laid eyes on him in over fifteen years. Dallas was a big place. There was no reason why she shouldn't go another fifteen without seeing him again. Two days later, Jennifer discovered one very good reason why Matt Penrose must have reappeared in her life. ...Fate. That was the only explanation, she thought, peeking out from behind a potted palm in a corner of the Ballroom...." The only thing that makes the reunion bearable is that Morgan Sherwood, the guy who broke her heart in their senior year, isn't there. Morgan, now unbelievably handsome -- and rich too -- arrives at the last minute with a plan to woo Jane and make her fall in love with him. True love and second chances. What more could you ask for in a romantic comedy? Texan Darcy Benton would give anything to be the kind of woman who could captivate her new boss Chase Whitaker. However, the sexy CEO would hardly fall for someone like Darcy, with her plain Jane wardrobe. Enter Darcy's matchmaking pal Janet who transforms Darcy into a hottie worthy of Chase's attention. Darcy lets her hair down and swaps her boxy suits for slinky dresses, and Chase is intrigued -- and ready for anything. . . including true love. This romantic comedy is a story of love, laughter, and maybe - just maybe - happily ever after is a marriage of convenience story (or is that a marriage of INconvenience?) about two people who are given that rarest of gifts - a second chance. "Ally Fletcher had waited six years - six long years - for this opportunity. There was no way a mere thunderstorm was going to stop her." Don't you love the old rock and roll standard Still The One? I do. Let me tell you how my book Still The One came to life. I've attended a lot of weddings and have waited, breath held, each time the minister asked: "Does anyone here know why this man and this woman shouldn't be joined in holy matrimony?" No one has ever yelled, "Stop the wedding." But, what if someone did? What would happen? That train of thought intruded into my writer's brain at a wedding I attended a few years ago. What if someone spoke up because they were still married to the groom? Whoa! Now that's a situation rife with conflict - and humor! Thus Ally and Burke jumped onto paper. How could two people who really loved each other end up broken apart? More importantly, how can they learn from past mistakes and get back together? Sounds like serious subject matter, but I wanted also to show the underlying humor from the whole bizarre situation. I think I succeeded, but you be the judge of that. I hope you'll get your copy of the book and have as much fun reading it as I had writing it. What happens when a woman goes millionaire hunting in Houston? Read Summer's Fortune for the answer. "Summer closed her mind to the past and gunned the engine. Gravel pinged against the undercarriage of the car until she got out onto the asphalt country road. She slid the shift lever into drive and headed for Houston. A long day of driving in the hot Texas sun lay ahead of her. Then she'd know if all the planning, all the money and time she'd spent on herself, had been worth it."
