![]() Hello! I'm Joan Reeves. It may sound corny, but I find joy in the written word - reading and writing them. Sharing the stories that spin around inside my head is my ultimate triumph. I've had seven wonderful romance novels and one novella published in paperback and three romance novels in hardcover. I write romance because the world needs more stories about the power of love and commitment. My romance novels are laced with comedy because the world can be grim, and laughter helps us get through the hard times. I was and am a freelance writer for regional and national periodicals and all over the Web. I've sold just about every written form under my own name, pseudonyms, and as a ghost writer. In the third grade, my teacher wrote in the comment section of my report card: "Joan talks too much in school." That's my way of telling you I really enjoy talking to writers and readers. When time permits, I teach writing in continuing education classes and mentor aspiring writers. I have the most wonderful husband in the whole wide world. He thinks I'm beautiful, brilliant, and wonderful. What a discerning man! I'm blessed with a slightly wacky mother who dances outside on the porch to Jerry Lee Lewis music, four children who think they are adults, and a ghost dog - all the ingredients for a life filled with love and warmed by laughter. |
Glad you stopped by for a visit. There's something new - articles and Written Wisdom - on every page of the website. Hope you find the articles educational, entertaining, and inspiring. If so, let others know. Pass it on. If you haven't subscribed to my newsletter Wordplay, why don't you do that? Each month, you'll receive the newsletter in your Email, and it details the changes to the website and also has articles that appear only in the newsletter for Readers and Writers. As always, The Archives contain previously featured articles from the website. Each year has a list of the articles. Click a title, and you'll be swiftly taken to it. For readers, go to Reading. For writers, there are lots of articles about the art, craft, and business of writing whether you want to be a novelist or a freelance writer. Just go to Writing. Next update June 1, 2008. If you're observant, you'll immediately notice this update didn't happen May 1 but on May 4. I've just been so darn busy I couldn't get it uploaded on the first. Mea culpa. In any event, it's finally updated. If you subscribe to the website newsletter, it will alert you to the new things for which to look. If you don't subscribe (shame on you) just click on each page and explore. Chapter 5 of my romantic comedy MOONLIGHT ON SNOW: A LOVE STORY will be posted this month. Hope you've been enjoying this serial romance on Romantic4Ever.com, a site dedicated to advancing romance. If so, let the website know. I hope you'll make a habit of visiting. Like we say in the South, y'all come back real soon! See you next month. If you miss me, then subscribe to the website newsletter and be sure and read my blog Sling Words.
